The other day I had made this comment on Facebook:
I gotta be honest...I love Prague, but I don't get why everyone was telling me that it's so beautiful. I find it to be pretty dirty and not that attractive. I love it and am having a GREAT time, but it's not much of a looker.
Then later that day I was going through my pictures (the ones that I
posted yesterday), and I felt bad about saying it wasn’t pretty, like I was gossiping about a close friend or something. I fell in love with Prague through the lens of my camera.
Here is some of the graffiti of which I was speaking:
 |
| This is taken from my hotel window. |
 |
| This is also taken from my hotel window. |
 |
| This is in a really touristy area near the Old Town Square. |
 |
| This is on the walk from Wenceslas Square to my hotel. |
 |
| This is also on the walk from Wenceslas Square to my hotel. |
 |
| ...again, on the way to my hotel. |
 |
| This is on the same street as my hotel. |
 |
| This is right next door to my hotel. Don't get my wrong, though, the hotel is very nice. |
But I’m even falling in love with the grime now! Yeah, I think it could use a good scrub down, but I’ve accepted it. I love Prague, warts and all.
I can’t wait to show you the Jewish Quarter and Karlstejn Castle! Stay tuned!
All that graffiti I beautiful places kinda makes me sad :(
ReplyDeleteThere is so much to take in. The only time I've been out of the country was when I went to Honduras this past Novemeber. I was almost overwhelmed with all the sights sounds and smells of a different country...it was amazing....I journalled also so I can remember as much as possible...be safe and I love ya'll.

The buildings and architecture are so pretty. It's really a shame that there is so much graffiti covering everything. Glad you're having a good time. I'm loving all the pics! Stay safe and have fun!

These pictures are beautiful. It's great that you gave you were able to find the beauty :)
ReplyDeleteI have always thought that if, in every city, there was a place where people could express themselves in the form of spray paint...like a giant concrete canvas maybe they would leave the buildings alone...probably not, but it's a nice thought :)
ReplyDeleteI am loving the pictures....warts and all ;)
